Use our post sets for.

Our single post set allows the construction of a dome shelter on a smaller footprint compared to using 2 shipping containers. Traditionally, container dome shelters are attached to the inside top edge of 2 shipping containers.  However, with a one container and a post set combo, you still get 36m2 of weatherproof space, only with a smaller amount of ground space.

For instance, a typical 2 x 20ft container (2.44m wide) and dome shelter plus the width of the shelter. In the case of this 20ft (6m) wide dome shelter, the total length of the build footprint is (6m +4.88m = 10.8m). Using 2 containers you’ll need a minimum of a 10.8m wide x 6m deep space to set out the containers.

Using a single post set with one 20 ft/6m shipping container and a 20ft/6m wide dome shelter, all you need is an 8.8m wide x 6m deep footprint of 52.8m2 (plus a safe work area around the structure to move around). Basically, if you don’t have the space, and you’ve only got one shipping container, the container and post-rail set is a good option – and the 36.2m of undercover space is still useable.

Post Set and Eaves Beam Setout

Base plate, eaves beam and truss tube sleeve connector assembly.

Assembly of the posts and eaves beam does not require any welding. The roof truss frame can be either bolted to the base rail truss tube sleeves, or welded directly to the eaves beam. The ends of the roof trusses are slotted into the truss tube sleeves and bolted into place.
