Double Trussed Dome Structure

  • Enhanced Structural Integrity: Our double trussed frame design in this 40x40ft/12x12m shelter means superior strength and stability. This dome shelter is capable of withstanding harsh weather conditions including high winds, extreme temperatures, and even heavy snow in Australia’s Southern States, ensuring protection for machinery, equipment and personnel.
  • High Load Bearing Capacity: Specifically engineered to handle significant loads, our double trussed design makes this ideal for areas prone to persistent adverse weather conditions, or for a structure that requires additional engineering to add strength to the structure, protecting expensive equipment and materials stored beneath.
  • Durability and Corrosion Resistance: Steel tube shipping container-mounted dome shelters constructed from high-grade, hot-dip galvanised steel offer exceptional durability and corrosion resistance, making them ideal for long-term use in challenging environmental conditions. The galvanization process involves immersing steel in molten zinc, creating a robust metallurgical bond that provides a thick protective coating. This coating not only enhances the steel’s lifespan but also ensures minimal maintenance requirements, even in severe weather-prone locations.
  • Galvanising – Increased Longevity and Less Maintenance: Galvanised steel structures such as this are designed to last over 25-50 years in average environments without the need for significant maintenance. This is achieved because the Zinc has a very unique property that makes it perfect for protecting steel frames from the effects of corrosion.

When zinc and steel are in contact with each other the zinc will be susceptible weathering long before the steel does. This happens because of a sacrificial process, whereby when zinc and steel are exposed to water or moisture Zinc are absorbed by the steel, therefore increasing the corrosion protection properties of the steel.

The sacrificial nature of the zinc coating means that any minor damage to the surface does not compromise the underlying steel; instead, the zinc corrodes preferentially, providing ongoing protection and eliminating the need for touch-ups or additional coatings

  • Customisable and Modular Design: We can advise on and supply a range of shelter configurations to suit any site requirements, including adjustable sizes, the addition of front and end walls, and ventilation systems, ensuring a tailored solution for every need.
  • Cost-Effective Long-Term Solution: While providing immediate protection and operational continuity, the durable and low-maintenance nature of this trussed frame dome shelters represents a cost-effective investment over time, with benefits extending far beyond the initial setup.

Why you need it

  • Protect Valuable Assets: Shield machinery, equipment, and materials from rain, sun, wind, and extreme weather conditions, extending the lifespan and reducing maintenance needs of whatever is stored under the dome.
  • Ensure Uninterrupted Work: Create a dedicated undercover space for repairs, maintenance and/or assembly tasks. Keep your projects on schedule and within budget by minimising downtime caused by unpredictable weather conditions.
  • Quality Workspaces: Container dome shelters provide a bright and airy weatherproof area and enhance a work site’s WHS compliance by providing a safe space for personnel.

Installation Guide Summary

Note: A comprehensive and detailed installation and assembly guide is included with each purchase to ensure precise and correct setup.

1. Container Alignment

Position the shipping containers to align with the predetermined width dimensions of the shelter, which is generally the centres of each of the ends of the truss connections. This ensures that the entire dome structure will fit securely and maintain stability.

2. Base Plate Assembly

This shelter features a welded base plate design with specially made plates with roof truss spigot connections form the support for the double truss structure.

3. Roof Truss Construction

Lay out the truss sections on a flat surface and proceed to bolt each section together to form a complete truss. This step requires attention to detail to ensure each section is correctly aligned and securely connected.

4. Roof Truss Installation

Proceed to lift each assembled truss one at a time. This step will require lifting equipment depending on the size and weight of the arches. After installing the first two trusses and connecting them to the base plates, connect the roof purlins to each truss arch using the clips provided. Continue to install the rest of the trusses and purlins.

5. Roof Cover Installation

Start by gently unpacking the shelter cover onto a flat surface away from dirt, mud or any other substrates which may damage the cover or soil the appearance. Lift the cover onto one container, then methodically pull one side of the cover up and over the roof structure to the other container. Secure the edges of the cover firmly, applying the correct tension to ensure a snug fit. This step is crucial for weatherproofing and overall stability of the shelter.
